Privacy

We collect no data about you. None.

No accounts, no analytics, no cookies, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting, no ads. Nothing about you is stored, shared or sold, because nothing about you is collected. A game should be something you own and play, not a way to watch you.

The game

The game doesn't collect or send any data about you. Your saves and settings stay on your computer.

The launcher

The launcher sends no telemetry. It goes online for three things only: to download the game and its updates, to check for a newer launcher, and to show the news page from this website. Those requests carry nothing about you. What it remembers, such as where your copy of Privateer is and where the game is installed, stays on your computer.

This website

Plain pages: no scripts, no cookies, and nothing loaded from anyone else. Our host's analytics features are switched off.

The one thing no website can avoid

This site and the downloads are served by Cloudflare. To send you a page or a file, any host has to know your IP address, so Cloudflare handles it as part of delivering it; how it treats that is set out in Cloudflare's privacy policy. Its dashboard only shows us totals, such as how many requests the site served. We can't see who you are, and we don't try. Links to GOG or Steam take you to their sites, which have their own policies.

If this ever changes

It would be opt-in, and this page would say so first.
